Livestock Grading Volume in April Increases Compared to Same Month Last Year

Last month, the volume of livestock grade assessments increased overall compared to the previous month and the same month last year. According to the Korea Institute for Animal Products Quality Evaluation on the 23rd, a total of 94,978 cattle were graded, increasing by 28.6% compared to March and 10.6% compared to the same month last year. Among these, Hanwoo cattle numbered 85,134, up 31.0% from the previous month and 11.0% from last year. Pigs totaled 1,661,373, increasing by 5.3% from the previous month and maintaining a similar level to the same month last year. In poultry, duck grade assessments reached 2,242,000, significantly increasing by 49.9% from the previous month and 13.1% from the same month last year, while chickens decreased to 9,397,000, down 0.8% from the previous month and 4.1% from last year.
