The Department of Livestock Development in Thailand has taken steps to prevent the spread of African swine fever (ASF) following its arrival in China in 2018. In response, the department has implemented strict inspections on livestock products from high-risk countries like China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Malaysia. These inspections, conducted at airports, ports, and borders, involve checking over 6,482 samples from August 2018 to the present. The inspections aim to ensure the safety of swine products and include license checks, animal health inspections, vehicle disinfection, and data recording. Consumers are encouraged to look for the 'livestock OK' sign to ensure the products they purchase are standardized and safe.
