Vietnam's lobster exports, predominantly blue lobsters, have surged by 1,746% in the first two months of 2024, earning nearly 30 million USD. The primary market for these exports is China, accounting for almost 29 million USD of the total. Despite China's Wildlife Protection Law impacting the import of Vietnam's cotton lobsters, a special mechanism is being considered to allow continued exports. Meanwhile, Vietnamese businesses are focusing on exporting live blue lobsters and a small quantity of frozen spiny lobster to China.
