Surat Thani's longkong production has seen a 5% decrease in 2021, dropping to 4,842 tons due to early rainfall and an insufficient drought period. This decrease is reflected in the large plot group in Ban Ta Khun District, which has seen a reduction in production but continues to generate over 2.3 million baht in annual income through sales to local and foreign markets. The group's longkong, known as 'Longkong Wang Khum', is grown under GAP standards and sold at various prices, with a significant portion distributed to local markets and some exported. The experience of this large plot group in reducing production costs and increasing yields through sustainable practices is a model for other farmers in the province. The Office of Agricultural Economics 8 has urged consumers to support these products to aid farmers and encourage more quality production.
