Lotte Mart became the first domestic retail company to operate a designated salmon farm in Chile, aiming to secure price competitiveness. In early July, Lotte Mart visited two salmon farms and a local processing plant in the Puerto Montt region of Chile to select the designated farm. According to the 'July 2025 Agricultural, Livestock, and Fisheries Import Price Index' released by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, the agricultural, livestock, and fisheries import price index rose by 2.4% in June compared to the same month last year. In particular, the import price index for frozen fish, including salmon, a representative imported seafood with high consumer demand, increased by 11.1% compared to the previous year. This rise in import prices is due to the continued impact of high exchange rates.
