Lotte Mart, operates the first Chilean salmon farm in the country

Lotte Mart has become the first domestic retail company to operate a designated salmon farm in Chile, aiming to secure price competitiveness. In early July, Lotte Mart visited two salmon farms and a local processing plant in the Puerto Montt region of Chile to select the designated farms. According to the 'July 2025 Agricultural, Livestock, and Fisheries Import Price Index' released by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, the import price index for agricultural, livestock, and fisheries products rose 2.4% in June compared to the previous year. In particular, the import price index for frozen fish, including salmon, a representative imported seafood with high consumer demand, increased by 11.1% compared to the previous year.
