In January 2023, Paraguay experienced a 22% decrease in beef exports to Taiwan, with volume dropping by 627 tons to 2,257 tons, and revenue decreasing by 34% to USD 10.6 million. The decrease was also attributed to a 16% drop in the export price to USD 4,679/tonne. Despite this, Taiwan remained Paraguay's fourth largest market for bovine meat in 2022, importing 37,307 tons for USD 195.1 million, marking a 23% increase in volume and 20% increase in revenue from 2021. Paraguay also exported 22,957 tons of beef in January, valued at USD 106.1 million, marking a 9% increase in volume but a 3.5% decrease in value from the previous year.
