Moldova's Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Vladimir Bolea, has expressed interest in Spain's expertise in livestock genetics, specifically the Assaf breed known for its high milk productivity. This interest was expressed during a meeting with Spain's Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas. The meeting explored potential collaboration between the two countries in agriculture and livestock. Spain, famous for its Merino breed and purebred Spanish horses, has a national program aimed at conserving and enhancing livestock breeds. Meanwhile, Moldova is seeking to partner with Spanish companies to learn from their irrigation practices, a critical adaptation strategy to climate change, as it faces water scarcity issues with its 300,000-hectare irrigated area.
