Spain: Luis Planas discusses agricultural and livestock cooperation between both countries with his Moldovan counterpart

Minister Vladimir Bolea conveys to Planas his interest in the genetics of the Assaf breed, a very productive dairy sheep breed, to increase the livestock herd in Moldova The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, met today with the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova, Vladimir Bolea, to analyze different collaboration programs between both countries in agricultural and livestock matters. The Moldovan minister has conveyed his interest in sheep livestock breeds. Minister Planas explained that Spain has extensive experience in the conservation and genetic improvement of livestock, two of the most relevant examples are the Merino breed and the purebred Spanish horse. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has a “National program for the conservation, improvement and promotion of livestock breeds”, which structures all the actions that administrations carry out to support breeder associations.
