The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in Spain has highlighted the importance of livestock farming, promising support and allocating significant funds to the sector. In the past two years, the government has provided extraordinary aid totaling 1.38 billion euros to the agricultural sector, with over 187.4 million euros going to Extremadura. The ministry has also allocated 23 million euros for health status maintenance of livestock and is implementing various measures such as direct aid, tax reductions, and modernization of farms. Additionally, the Common Agricultural Policy provides a safety net for producers, and eco-regimes have received a good reception in Extremadura. The government is also taking steps to address health issues like Epizootic Haemorrhagic Disease and bluetongue, with plans to purchase vaccines and providing compensation for the cessation of European contributions for bovine tuberculosis eradication.
