The Indonesian government is taking measures to stabilize the prices of chili and shallots through revising policies and promoting the use of cold chain technology. The National Food Agency (NFA) is running a program to extend the shelf life of these commodities and is also facilitating their distribution from surplus areas to deficit areas. The government also plans to involve SOEs in absorbing and distributing harvested crops and is considering subsidies for transportation costs. As of November 2022, the availability of chili, shallots, and other related foods is projected to be sufficient, with some surpluses.
