(Imsil=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Dong-cheol = Jeonbuk Imsil County announced on the 28th that the '10th Assak Assak Kimjang Festival' will be held from November 21 to 23 at the Chizu Theme Park.
The Kimjang Festival is an event where participants can experience kimjang (kimchi making) and purchase pickled cabbage and seasonings through delivery or on-site pickup (drive-through).
Reservations for the kimjang experience and sales event will be accepted until November 14.
The price for a set of pickled cabbage (20 kg) and seasoning (10 kg), including delivery fees, is 193,000 won, which is 2,000 won cheaper than last year.
If purchased directly from Imsil N Yangnyeom, the price excluding delivery fees is 185,000 won.
Orders for the kimjang set and the kimjang experience can be made through Imsil N Yangnyeom (☎ 063-643-8949·644-4289) and their website (http://www.imsiln.kr).
The festival will also feature a food booth selling a set of suyuk (boiled meat), rice, kimchi, and soup for 10,000 won, along with a kimjang demonstration and a singing contest that offers souvenirs.
Only clean agricultural products, such as gochugaru (Korean red pepper powder), pickled cabbage, radishes, ginger, and onions, grown directly by local farmers will be used in the festival.
The county has secured over 110 tons of cabbage and seasoning.
