Malaysian durian growers will be able to export fresh durians to China starting next year, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The increase in durian production has caused prices to drop, with the price of Musang King almost half of the past price. Discussions are underway with the Malaysian Institute of Agricultural Research and Development to finalize an export agreement and ensure the freshness of durians for at least 7 days and up to 21 days.
