Manga: Tropical Fruit Dominates Country's Exports

Mango has consolidated itself as the most exported fresh fruit by Brazil in 2024, according to data from the Secretariat of Trade and International Relations of the Ministry of Agriculture (SCRI/Mapa). The performance reinforces the prominent role of the crop in the agricultural sector and in the Brazilian trade balance. The state of São Paulo plays a central role in this productive chain. According to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), in 2023, São Paulo occupied third place among the largest national producers, with a harvest of 212,225 tons — which represented 12.1% of the national fruit production. A survey conducted by the Institute of Agricultural Economics (IEA) and the Integral Technical Assistance Coordination (CATI), linked to the São Paulo State Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply, pointed out that four regions concentrated most of the state production in 2024.
