Marcelo Rusca, from Go Fresh (Canada): We depend on Chile, New Zealand, Italy and Greece to supply us with kiwis throughout the year

The southern hemisphere kiwi season is in full swing. New Zealand and Chile are the main suppliers, followed by Argentina, a relatively new player starting with small volumes. "For our Canadian customers, we rely primarily on Chile," says Marcelo Rusca of Go Fresh, a division of Gambles Group of Companies. "When it comes to the green Hayward variety, we have good partnerships with producers in Chile and have access to considerable volume." The first shipments from Chile arrived in Canada in April, after a transit time of three weeks. The season is expected to end around mid-September. In general, the Chilean kiwi crop is very healthy.
