Mato Grosso farmers have started selling their 2023/24 soy and corn crops, with soy sales reaching 4.92% of the expected production, a figure that's behind the historical average for this time of year. The delay in negotiations is attributed to farmers waiting for higher prices. Corn sales are also behind schedule, with 1.78% of the expected harvest already negotiated. The Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea) reported that soybean sales for the current harvest reached 52.26%, while corn sales were at 30.04%. Cotton sales for the 2023/24 crop were at 6.27%, a figure that's lower than the previous year and the historical average.
