Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe held a bilateral meeting in Beijing, China to discuss increasing cooperation between the two countries. They discussed forming a preferential trade agreement to boost the value of trade, as well as lifting the ban on palm oil imports from Indonesia. The leaders also talked about Indonesian state-owned companies collaborating with Sri Lanka in the procurement of train carriages and electronic passports, and Indonesia supporting Sri Lanka's chairmanship of IORA and its desire to become an ASEAN Sectoral Partner.
