The sales of yamish, which is a term for dried fruits and nuts, are seeing a significant decrease of up to 50% in Ramadan products this year compared to the previous year. This is due to increased prices of local and imported items such as apricots, Qamar El-Din, persimmons, and Iranian raisins. The prices of dates, on the other hand, have remained reasonable and the product is experiencing some popularity in the market. The high prices and lack of demand have resulted in about 60% of merchants refraining from entering the yamish trade in the last two years. Despite the decline in sales, yamish products are still being sold through consumer complexes, Welcome Ramadan exhibitions, companies, malls, and other outlets.
