Mexico has approved the entry of beef from 22 Argentine slaughterhouses, opening up a new market for Argentina, a major beef exporter. The conditions for exporting to Mexico have been met, concluding negotiations initiated in 2010 by Argentine President Alberto Fernández and Mexican counterpart Andrés Manuel López Obrador. The export authorization includes boneless and aged beef. This development is seen as strategic and is expected to provide new export opportunities for Argentina, which has been focusing heavily on the Chinese market, accounting for 76.5% of its beef exports between January and November of the previous year.
