In 2023, Mexico's berry exports reached $3,937 million, a 4.0% increase from the previous year. Blackberries and strawberries led global sales with $777 million and $1,240 million respectively, while raspberries ranked second with $1,343 million. In production, blackberries topped globally with 238,122 tons, followed by strawberries and raspberries with 641,552 tons and 190,413 tons. Blueberries ranked fifth in production and seventh in exports, with 80,133 tons valued at $776 million. Nationally, strawberry production hit 1.15 million tons, with Michoacán, Jalisco, and Baja California as top producers. By May 31, 2023, national berry production showed an upward trend. Berry farming supports 500,000 direct jobs across 21 states, with strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries contributing 38%, 23%, 22%, and 17% of employment respectively.
