Heavy rains from hurricanes Nora and Pamela have negatively impacted vegetable producers in Rosario and Escuinapa municipalities, but mango producers in Sinaloa, Mexico, are optimistic for the 2022 season due to the abundant rainfall. Despite the 2021 season being low due to drought, mango exports, mainly to Mexico, the US, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, and South America, are expected to increase. The Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development of Mexico (Sader) reported a surplus in the agricultural and fishing trade balance for the seventh consecutive year, with agricultural and agro-industrial exports exceeding imports by USD 29,390 million. These exports contribute significantly to Mexico's foreign exchange earnings, exceeding the revenue from oil product sales and tourism.
