Mexico is the main supplier of mangoes to the US market, with around 3.14 million boxes shipped in the week ending June 1. The main regions involved in the harvest and packaging are Oaxaca, Chiapas, Michoacán, Nayarit, and South Sinaloa. The two most popular varieties are Tommy Atkins and Ataúlfo, with a limited supply of other varieties such as Haden, Keitt, Kent, Thai, and Mallika. The Mexican mango season runs from January to October. The National Mango Board expects the volume of mangoes shipped in the next few weeks to be around 2% less than the previous year.
