The head of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader), Víctor Villalobos Arámbula, has emphasized the need for producing countries to transform their production systems in order to meet new trends in coffee consumption that prioritize the well-being of coffee growers and agricultural workers. He highlighted the increasing demand for specialty coffee with cultural and environmental attributes, and suggested that member countries of the Cooperative Program for the technological development and modernization of coffee farming (Promecafé) can enhance resilience, productivity, transparency, and efficiency to ensure the supply of high-quality coffees. Villalobos Arámbula urged Promecafé members to adapt to the new reality through environmental and political resilience and emphasized the importance of international cooperation and sustainable practices in improving the health, quality, productivity, and resilience of coffee producers.
