Mexico's agricultural and agro-industrial trade balance saw a positive surplus of $4.857 million in the first half of 2021, marking the third largest surplus in 27 years. This was attributed to exports valued at $22.588 billion and imports at $17.731 billion. The country experienced significant growth in exports and imports, with demand for products like natural honey, flowers, citrus, tobacco, peanuts, and fresh fish, as well as agro-industrial products such as meat and poultry offal, soybean oil, and tequila and mezcal. The first half of 2021 also saw record-breaking values in agri-food sales, surpassing the revenue from oil products and foreign tourism.
