[Korean Farmers' News, Reporter Kim Young-min] It has been confirmed that using microbial agents in apple cultivation increases the number of fruit set by up to 30% and improves stress resistance indicators. Particularly, the application of microbial agents to rice abroad has shown effects such as increased yield, and attention is being paid to whether the application range of microbial agents will expand in the future. The National Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology developed the useful microorganism 'Bacillus mesonae' between 2016 and 2018. Bacillus mesonae is a functional biological material that strengthens plant tissues to prevent wilting and increases resistance to diseases, pests, and salt damage. The core technology based on this material was transferred to the domestic private company GlobalAgro in 2023.
