In April 2021, Peruvian agro-exports saw a significant increase of over 50%, totaling US $ 526 million compared to the same period in 2020 due to higher placements of fresh avocados, asparagus, mangoes, and other products. Both traditional and non-traditional agricultural exports experienced growth, with the United States, the Netherlands, Spain, Chile, Hong Kong, Ecuador, China, England, Mexico, and Germany being the main destination countries. Traditional exports increased by 23% to US $ 13 million, led by unroasted coffee, while non-traditional exports surged by 51% to US $ 513 million, with fresh avocados, other fresh fruits, asparagus, and mangoes driving the growth. From January to April 2021, total agro-exports reached US $ 2,274 million, marking a 16.5% increase compared to the previous year, with non-traditional products like fruits and vegetables making up 66% of exports, generating US $ 1,446 million and showing a 23% increase compared to the same period in 2020.
