In the first quarter of 2021, Peru's agricultural exports saw an 8.9% increase compared to the previous year, totaling US $ 1,744 million, as reported by the Ministry of Development Agrarian and Irrigation (Midagri). Non-traditional agro-exports, which made up 97% of these figures, reached US $ 1,689 million, marking a 9.2% increase, with fresh grapes, mangoes, avocados, and blueberries being the primary products. Traditional agricultural exports, on the other hand, slightly increased by 0.1% to US $ 57 million. The United States continued to be the main destination for these exports, accounting for 31.5% of the total. This growth in agricultural exports is attributed to the sales of avocados, grapes, blueberries, and other products, with notable increases in the export value of fresh avocados, grapes, and blueberries.
