Dairy product prices in Kazakhstan rose by 0.5% monthly and 10.4% annually in January, with the most significant increases seen in drinking milk, canned milk, and fermented milk products. The Ulytau region experienced the largest price increase. Despite a 0.9% increase in overall dairy production to 41.6 billion tenge, the production of certain products like processed liquid milk, cream, ice cream, and condensed milk decreased. Conversely, the production of cheese, cottage cheese, solid milk, yogurt, and other fermented milk products increased. However, the country still relies on imports for solid milk and struggles with local production of cheeses and cottage cheese.
