Ukraine has seen a significant increase in milk prices, making it the second most expensive in Europe after Cyprus and Malta. This increase is due to a raw milk surplus in Europe contrasted with a shortage in Ukraine, according to Vadym Chagarovsky, Chairman of the Union of Dairy Enterprises. He is pessimistic about any predicted rise in dairy consumption in the country and has observed a nearly 3 UAH increase in the cost of a liter of milk and over 40 UAH increase in hard cheese prices in Ukraine since the start of 2021.
