The Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe (GMAZ) is encouraging local millers to capitalize on the demand for mealie meal in Zambia, which is currently experiencing a shortage. With Zimbabwe set to harvest three million tonnes of maize, the largest in the country's history, GMAZ believes this could be a significant opportunity for exports. However, the association is calling for the necessary export permits to be obtained to facilitate trade with Zambia. The government's efforts to enhance agricultural production, alongside successful crop conditions and preparations for the next harvest, promise a promising future for food security and potential exports in the region.
