Consumption of mineral water in Hungary has risen after a decline in 2020, with the country ranking 13th in the world in per capita consumption in 2020 at 118 liters. Experts stress that the choice between tap and mineral water is secondary to the importance of hydration and avoiding sugary or artificial drinks. They also recommend testing tap water for quality and switching varieties of mineral water, especially for those on low-sodium diets.
