Minister Jeon Jae-soo visits New York to attract the UN Ocean Assembly.

The Minister of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Jeon Jae-soo, visited New York from the 6th to the 11th to explain the proposal for a resolution on the co-hosting of the 4th United Nations Ocean Conference by South Korea and Chile in 2028 at the 80th United Nations General Assembly, and to host a reception for representatives of all member countries (193 countries) at the United Nations. Following this, he met with local maritime logistics and fisheries industry officials to listen to the trends in the U.S. regarding the conclusion of U.S.-South Korea tariff negotiations since the start of Trump's second term and the difficulties faced by domestic companies. Prior to this, on the 5th, he attended the "Maritime Safety Industry Forum" held in Busan, where he met with individuals from the maritime safety industry and academia to discuss maritime safety industry matters.
