The Minister of Agriculture in Indonesia, Andi Amran Sulaiman, has urged his staff to maximize the potential of oil palm plantation land by promoting intercropping dryland rice. This initiative is part of the government's effort to accelerate national food security. The Ministry plans to carry out simultaneous planting of dryland rice on oil palm plantation land in 2025, supported by the acceleration of Prospective Farmers Prospective Land (CPCL) and collaboration with PTPN, local governments, and the private sector. The intercropping method is expected to increase food production and sustainability while providing additional income for farmers.
