The Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation in Egypt, Alaa Farouk, has announced the opening of the Costa Rican market to Egyptian exports of fresh onions. This decision comes after successful negotiations between the agricultural quarantines of both countries. Dr. Mohamed El-Mansi, Head of Egypt's Agricultural Quarantine, reported the development, indicating that inspections for the first shipment of Egyptian onions to Costa Rica are underway. This is a significant move as Costa Rica already imports various other agricultural products from Egypt. This step is aimed at expanding the reach of Egyptian agricultural exports to support the national economy by earning foreign currency.
