Indonesia continues to depend on food imports, leading to protests from local farmers due to their produce not being absorbed in the market. Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, highlighted that he lacks control over import permit policies and his role is limited to productivity. The international trade center's data shows a consistent increase in imported commodities, including fruits, chocolate, processed vegetables, fruit, nuts, and more. Countries like China, Thailand, Australia, the US, and Pakistan are the main suppliers of these imports.
