A large specialized fair is being held in Peru to promote the consumption of cheese, showcasing a wide variety of cheeses made from cow's, sheep's, and goat's milk, as well as fusions with native ingredients. The event aims to increase the marketing of cheese varieties both nationally and internationally, with over 50 types of cheeses available for consumers. The national production of cheese in Peru has seen a 16% increase, reaching 145 thousand tons last year, and consumption has also risen from 2.4 kilos in 2009 to 4.7 kilos per capita per year in 2023. The fair is expected to sell over 200 types of cheeses and dairy derivatives, and will provide information and access to innovation and technology for producers.
