The Department of Livestock Development in Thailand is implementing a policy to produce high-quality, safe agricultural products and food, aiming to increase export value and improve farmers' lives. This includes inspecting and controlling production at every level, with a new ministerial regulation for traceability of animals entering and meat leaving slaughterhouses, effective from October 26, 2021. Slaughterhouse operators have until April 2022 to obtain a license for quail and turkey slaughter, or face penalties. This initiative aims to build consumer confidence, control animal disease spread, and improve efficiency and traceability in the production chain.
