Ministry of Agriculture Encourages Equalization of Chicken and Egg Production Outside Java
This step is expected to curb price disparities and maintain the national supply.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) is preparing steps to equalize the production of chicken meat and eggs outside of Java Island. This is done to suppress price disparities and maintain the stability of the national supply. “The government is now encouraging the equalization of chicken meat and egg production outside of Java Island,” said Director General of Livestock and Animal Health of the Ministry of Agriculture, Agung Suganda, during a seminar themed National Poultry Farming Transformation: Optimizing 20 Trillion Rupiah Towards Food Independence at the Faculty of Animal Science UGM, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, on Saturday (22/11/2025).
