The Ministry of Agriculture in Indonesia is focusing on strengthening the downstream aspect and the egg supply chain to address the fluctuating and low price of broiler eggs at the farmer level. The country's egg production is not considered excessive, with a potential surplus of 615 thousand tons for national food reserves and export potential. The Ministry is also working with the private sector to invest in an egg processing factory and has issued a letter prohibiting the sale of Hatching Egg (HE) eggs for consumption. The Head of the National Food Agency, Arief Prastyo Adi, stated that the country's food reserves are small and that the distribution of egg production is not evenly distributed across Indonesia.
