Potato spirit may become a Polish specialty on the EU spirits market, as indicated in the announcement of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development published on Thursday, referring to the change of EU regulations regarding alcoholic products. The new regulations will come into force on May 13 this year. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, new EU regulations will enter into force on May 13, 2024, introducing new definitions of spirit drinks that can be produced in the European Union. The regulations - as indicated - will allow for better information for consumers. It was explained that the old EU regulations from 2019 on spirit drinks did not include, for example, a separate category for potato spirits produced in Poland.
