Moldavian rapeseed exports fell by 41.3%

In 2024, rapeseed exports from Moldova decreased, a consequence of both a decrease in agricultural production and changes in international demand. While in 2023 Moldova exported 297.9 thousand tons of rapeseed, in 2024 the volume dropped to 174.8 thousand tons, representing a 41.3% decrease, Agroexpert.md reported. However, the indicator was higher than in 2022, showing an increase of 123.8%, when exports amounted to only 78.1 thousand tons, which indicates some long-term stability. Thus, in 2024, despite the decrease in rapeseed exports by 41.3% compared to 2023, Moldova maintains its position as a regional player in the agro-industrial complex markets, says expert Iurie Ria. In November-December 2024, Romania remained the main market for rapeseed exported from the Republic, with a volume of 8,208 tons and an average price of 10.14 lei/kg, which is the highest among all destinations.
