Moldova has seen a significant increase in the income from exporting apples to the European Union, doubling the income from the previous year, reaching 229 million. lei (approximately 12 million euros) from January to October. This increase is attributed to the dedication of farmers and the extension of liberalized trade with the EU, providing access to larger markets. The share of EU countries in apple exports has also increased from 0.4% in 2021 to 18% in 2024, showing the high quality of Moldovan production on a global scale.
