In 2023, Moldova experienced a significant growth in its table grape exports, with an 11% increase in volume and a 33% increase in value from the previous year, exporting 84.55 thousand tons valued at $75.67 million. The country expanded its export destinations from 23 to 33 countries, adding new markets such as Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Serbia, Italy, Lithuania, the UAE, Hong Kong, Kyrgyzstan, and Albania. Despite the European Parliament allowing Moldovan grape exporters tariff-free and unrestricted access to the EU market, they are required to meet the EU's stringent quality and safety standards.
