Moldovan walnut growers will be introduced to modern technologies for growing hazelnuts

Moldovan hazelnut producers will have the opportunity to receive a free business consultation from an American volunteer who will be in the country from 11 to 27 February, MOLDPRES informs. The visit will take place as part of the USAID-funded Farmer-to-Farmer program and the CNFA (Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture) Moldova program implemented in Moldova. American specialist Ross Penhallegon has more than 50 years of experience in horticulture, especially in the cultivation of hazelnuts and walnuts, and in the past he also worked as an extension specialist at the University of Oregon, USA. The main purpose of the visit is to compile the contents of a pocket guide to growing hazelnuts, as well as to organize trainings on advanced pruning techniques in walnut orchards.
