More and more Moroccan peppers on the German market

Morocco is increasing the export of peppers to all major destinations, including Germany, EastFruit reports. For several seasons in a row, Morocco has increased pepper exports to Germany by 10-20% per year. In 2022/23 (July-June), a record volume of Moroccan peppers (18,200 tons) reached the German market. Sales then reached almost $30 million, the highest figure in the past 7 seasons. “Morocco was actually the only major exporter of peppers that managed to expand volumes to Germany last season. Other countries saw their exports decline due to various problems,” said Yevhen Kuzin, fruit and vegetable market analyst at EastFruit. Germany is a promising destination for Moroccan exports. The country is the largest importer of peppers in Europe and in the world rankings, Germany has been in second place since 2017, behind the US.
