Dr. Saleh Mohammadi emphasized Gilan province's pivotal role in Iran's poultry industry during an ISNA interview. Gilan leads in breeding broiler and native chickens, ranks second in broiler chicken and hatchery factories, and third in hatching nationwide. Poultry breeding is a major investment focus, with last year's production surpassing 253,000 tons of chicken meat and 23,000 tons of eggs. The province experienced a 31.4% increase in hatching this spring, with 42.9 million pieces hatched in the first quarter. Gilan has 872 active meat half units, with 77% of production integrated into a value chain.
