Turkey's aquatic products exports in the first 9 months of this year reached $313 million, an increase of $28.3 million compared to the same period last year. The Russian Federation was the top destination for salmon exports, while France and South Korea took the lead in anchovy and sea snails exports respectively. There is a need for packaging and processing facilities to further increase the export of aquatic products, and Gürdoğan suggests establishing a Fisheries Organized Industrial Site to export fully finished products with higher added value.
