Khuzestan, a province in Iran, is the country's largest producer of autumn sugar beet, with over 16,000 hectares dedicated to its cultivation this crop year. The harvesting season, which started in May and will end in July, has so far seen over 9,000 hectares harvested, yielding over 600,000 tons of sugar beet. These crops are grown strategically in tropical and subtropical regions due to their low water usage. The harvest is expected to reach approximately 1.1 million tons by the season's end.
