In 2023, Morocco has become a major exporter of watermelons, supplying 65.35% of Spain's and 45% of France's imports. Despite facing competition from Senegal and Mauritania, Morocco exported 78,500 tons to Spain and 121,910 tons to France. On a global scale, the United States was the largest importer with 820,910 tons, followed by Germany and France. The Dutch market proved to be the most lucrative, with an average price of EUR 0.83 per kilogram.
