Most of the Hungarian seed goes abroad

Without seeds, there is no food production, and the domestic seed sector is a sector of national strategic importance. Among other things, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy spoke about these in Siófok, at the jubilee event of the 30-year Seed Association Inter-Trade Organization and Product Council. In the past 30 years, the members of the association have always worked to maintain seed production and have provided seeds that help producers in the midst of changing socio-economic, environmental and climatic conditions. "The seed sector is an unavoidable factor. The value produced here is of particular importance, since the long-term sustainability of domestic agricultural production is ensured only by high-quality seeds and propagating materials," said István Nagy.
