Movement of soybeans and corn in the Amazon Arc has grown by 288% over the last ten years.

The Amazon Arc region, which comprises the port terminals along the Amazon River and its tributaries — including those located below the Marajó Bay —, has increased its relevance in the national logistics scenario. In 2024, 87.8 million tons were moved, considering long-haul and coastal operations, a number that represented a 4.8% growth compared to the previous year. The region has consolidated itself as one of the main routes for the outflow of goods in Brazil, especially agricultural commodities. Of the total, approximately 64% were moved by Private Use Terminals (TUPs), which highlights the participation of the private sector. The information is from a survey by the Research and Development Coordination of the Association of Private Port Terminals (ATP). The entity, which brings together 70 private terminals, highlighted that, in 2024, the port movement of the Amazon Arc was led by solid bulk cargo.
