The association stated: "As per our usual practice, we start exporting from February 1, benefiting from Thailand's tariff exemption policy, until the end of August. After August ends, the tax exemption period will conclude. Exports are mainly conducted through Yangon Port and the Tachileik border. It is estimated that the total amount of corn exported to Thailand this year will exceed 1 million tons. Additionally, we also export to the Philippines and India."
Due to a slight decrease in this year's corn production, the export volume to Thailand has reduced compared to last year. Meanwhile, the corn prices in Thailand this year have also slightly declined compared to last year.
Furthermore, the current spot price for corn in Yangon is between 1650 and 1670 Myanmar Kyats per thseh (approximately 1.6 kilograms), and the domestic market price has also slightly decreased compared to last year.
